Installing the newest Edge Browser.

If you are still using either of the following symbols to get on the internet: Internet Explorer 11Image result for internet explorer 11 icon or the first version of EdgeImage result for old edge  icon, then you will need remove these two applications and update your browser to the newest version Edge. These two applications have reached their end of life and will no longer be supported by Microsoft. In order to update to the newest Edge, you will need to follow the following guide: 

1. Navigate to the Microsoft.com site. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge to download the latest version. 


2. Click the Download button. This will give you the option of your OS. (For almost all users, the correct choice is Windows 10 for school related computers.)

3. Once downloaded, you will need to run the application which will install the new Edge to your computer by double-clicking MicrosoftEdgeSetup.exe file in downloads folder. In almost all browsers, there is a way to go to the download folder. Usually it involves the 3 lines next to your user name/picture or the 3 ellipses in the top right corner just below the X button. The images below are what it looks like in Edge. Your's may appear differently. 



4. Once you click the installation file, a screen will pop up asking you to accept and download. Click the big blue button doing so.

5. From here on out the installation of Edge will require very little intervention until after you run it for the first time.

6. Updating to the newest version will keep your computer as secure as possible while navigating the internet landscape. Not to mention your IT department....
